Hello and Happy New Year!
Here's hoping that you had a good Christmas, and are now raring to go with your photographic projects (is anyone else doing a '365' this year?!)
Anyway, the main purpose of this newsletter is to summarise the three(!) projected-images deadlines which are very rapidly approaching!
Firstly, January 11th is the submission date for entries into the Annual Projected Images competition. To summarise:
- Each author is allowed to enter up to 4 images;
- Each image can have a maximum width of 1920 pixels, and a maximum height of 1080 pixels;
- Each image can be TIFF or JPEG;
- Each image must be in the sRGB colour-space;
- Images should be submitted to John Shepherd on a CD-R, or a USB memory stick at the meeting. Each image file should be named as follows:
- <Image number><Title>_<Competitor number> : For example – For the first image, named Across The Board, submitted by competitor number 14 the file name would be 1AcrossTheBoard_14.jpg (or .tif as appropriate). Your competitor number can be found on the back of your membership badge.
In addition, remember that the projected images are also being judged for the John Saville Rose Bowl; any photographs showing an aspect of York are eligible for this. If you would like to enter an image for this competition, please make it clear when submitting images which should be entered.
Secondly, January 11th is also the second of our informal 'project nights' - on the theme Self-Portrait:
- Each author can bring up to 5 images;
- Images should be JPEG;
- sRGB colour-space;
- Dimensions are up to you - but consider that we will need to copy the images to the laptop on the night, so a smaller size means faster copying;
- Ideally, the images should be produced specifically for this project!
Images should be brought along on the night or emailed in advance to the projections secretary: projections@yorkps.org
Thirdly, entries are requested for the PAGB GB cup. There are in fact two simultaneous competitions running: Open and Nature.
- Each author can submit up to 4 images into the Open competition, and 3 images into the Nature competition;
- Images must be JPEG;
- Images must be in the sRGB colour space;
- Each image can have a maximum width of 1400 pixels, and a maximum height of 1050 pixels;
- Please name the files so that your name and the picture title are obvious!
Images can be submitted on CD-R or USB stick, or emailed to the projections secretary: projections@yorkps.org
That's all for now, see you next week!
